Apple bounces Pepe the Frog out of the App Retailer, again to alt-right Reddit

Apple has banned the alt-right’s favourite meme from its App Retailer.

Pepe the Frog, the once-innocent meme that was co-opted by racists of the alt-right, is banned from the App Retailer as a result of it is “thought-about objectionable content material” underneath Apple’s developer tips, in line with an e-mail posted by a developer on Reddit.

The developer, whose submit was first noticed by Motherboard, obtained a rejection letter from Apple saying “your app accommodates pictures and references to Pepe the Frog, that are thought-about objectionable content material.” Read more…
